Artifact orders.war manifests the component OrderEntry. It has two Deployment relationships: one whose target is the «device» AppHost and one whose target is the «executionEnvironment» WebContainer, which is nested inside AppHost. The modeler adds a «deployment spec» OrdersConfig with deploymentLocation = "/opt/orders". Which of these deployments may take OrdersConfig as its configuration in a well-formed model?
AOnly the deployment whose target is AppHost
BOnly the deployment whose target is WebContainer
CBoth deployments, sharing the one OrdersConfig
DEither deployment, but not both at once
Answer: B. Sub clause 19.2.3 (PDF p. 695) states that DeploymentSpecifications can be captured as elements of Deployment relationships because they are Artifacts, and that they can only be associated with DeploymentTargets that are ExecutionEnvironments. The constraint deployment_target (19.5.5.6, PDF p. 704) states the same, and the association end deployment : Deployment [0..1] (19.5.5.5, PDF p. 704) allows at most one Deployment per DeploymentSpecification. AppHost is a Device, which specializes Node but not ExecutionEnvironment (19.5.7, PDF p. 705), so only the deployment to WebContainer may own OrdersConfig as its configuration.

Component Ledger has a black-box view and a white-box view. In the white-box view, Dependencies tie the external view to the realizing Classifiers. A reviewer asks how binding these Dependencies are for the actual internal realization. Which statement is correct?
AThey give an overview of what may happen internally and do not dictate what must happen
BThey dictate the internal realization, and a realizing Classifier lacking a matching Dependency is invalid
CThey bind the internals only when a ProtocolStateMachine is attached to the Component; otherwise they are decorative
DThey bind for the Operations of the external view but stay advisory for its Properties
Answer: A. The white-box view shows how external Behavior is realized internally. Dependencies on the external view provide a convenient overview of what may happen in the internal view; they do not prescribe what must happen. More detailed specifications such as Interactions and Activities may be used to detail the mapping from external to internal behavior.

A Dependency is created from the Usage of an Interface in component Checkout to a matching InterfaceRealization in component Billing. Beyond the structural link, what may this wiring Dependency signify?
AIt implies that both Components are deployed on the same execution Node at run-time.
BIt can imply further information, such as performance requirements or transport bindings.
CIt implies that Checkout takes ownership of the Classifiers that realize the Interface in Billing.
DIt implies that the internals of Billing become visible to Checkout through the Dependency.
Answer: B. Creating a wiring Dependency between a Usage and a matching InterfaceRealization (or between compatible simple Ports) means additional information, such as performance requirements, transport bindings or other policies, may determine that the Interface is realized suitably for the consuming Component. A profile can capture it with stereotypes.

In the internal structure of Component Portal, parts are typed by Classes shown in the packaged elements compartment, and delegation Connectors are drawn. What does a delegation Connector join in this view?
ATwo internal parts to each other, drawn with ball-and-socket notation.
BA realizing Class to its Component, drawn as a dashed hollow-triangle line.
CA Port of one Component to a Port of a neighbouring Component outside it.
DA delegating Port to the internal part that realizes or requires its Interfaces.
Answer: D. Figure 11.48 shows delegation Connectors from delegating Ports to the parts of the internal structure that realize or require the externally provided Interfaces. Assembly Connectors between parts use ball-and-socket notation instead.

Component Purchasing has a simple Port with a required Interface. Component Ledger has a compatible simple Port with a provided Interface. A Dependency wires these Ports. Which drawing is a notational option for it?
AA realization arrow with a hollow triangle from the required Port to the provided Port
BA dependency arrow joining the socket of one Port to the lollipop of the other
CA delegation Connector that ends on the rectangle of Ledger
DA solid Association line between the two Component rectangles
Answer: B. In the example, the Dependency between the AccountPayable Ports illustrates the notational option of drawing the dependency arrow so that it joins the socket to the lollipop when the Dependency is wired between simple Ports.
